Retro Game Weekly Issue#29 6.22.22
Good morning Retro Gamers!
I hope everyone is having a great week! I also hope you enjoy this week’s issue! Also full transparency I think I’m putting LIVE content on the backburner for the foreseeable future. I just don’t have the proper setup (or time) to dedicate to streaming. But that’s good news for Retro Game Weekly! I can focus solely on the newsletter and make it an even more enjoyable read for the reader! So along with fake video game covers I have a few more ideas for weekly (or bi-weekly) segments that will be added to the rotation!
Thanks for subscribing and motivating me to write each and every week!

Fake Video Game Of The Week
SEGA is getting desperate to beat Nintendo in the 16-bit wars with the upcoming release of Sonic X NARC.
In this new platformer, you take control of Sonic as he runs through an unnamed city (rumors circulating forums are suggesting it’s based on Baltimore). But there’s a catch. Sonic has been working undercover for the police for the last 18 months and his cover has been blown. Now Sonic must overcome a $500,000 bounty on his head and a department who has washed their hands clean of him if he wants to survive.
Will this bold idea help SEGA edge out Nintendo as the 16-bit war rages on? Time will tell. Be on the lookout for Sonic x NARC in the fall of 94!

I Did VR This Weekend
Shoutout to my fiancé for the awesome idea of doing VR gaming this past weekend. And shoutout to Vison’s VR in Port Clinton OH for the 45 minutes of VR gaming!
*Not a plug or ad we paid full price and I’m not famous enough to get free sh!t yet*
My experience in virtual reality was great.
After starting out in a shooting range (unable to fire any bullets because I couldn’t figure out how to turn the safety off). Then my fiancé and I decided to fight off zombies in Arizona Sunshine.
This is when things got cray (for the better). After getting settled in the canyons the zombies were coming in at the tens and I was in heaven. I was like John Wick in there! Of course I probably looked like a dumb dumb to the worker I didn’t care! I was blowing zombies to pieces with my weapons. Saving my fiancé from the zombies had me feeling like Columbus in Zombieland.
Alas, all good things must come to an end and about 35 minutes into our 45 minute session I started feeling queasy. Motion sickness reared their ugly head and while my vision was still in VR land, every other part of me (non-union) was working forced overtime to keep me from barfing. Thankfully I didn’t barf and I crossed the 45 minute finish line green to the gills with my 8 month puke free streak still intact.
Overall it was a fun experience but if you have a sawft stomach like me it’s probably best to enjoy VR in small doses.
10/10 would recommend.
Retro Game Song Of The Week
To celebrate the PSX release of Mortal Kombat 4 (which was 24 years ago this week) I will be embedding the god-awful FMV endings for your viewing pleasure.
These endings are laughably bad. I mean what better way to cap off the most underwhelming boss battle (sorry Shinnok you’re no Shao Kahn) in MK history than some underwhelming endings?!
